Tens of thousands of people attended a rally in Istanbul's Yenikapi square to support Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his Justice and Development Party on Sunday.

People waved Turkish flags, cheering the country's leader who was accompanied by his wife Emine Erdogan.

The rally was held one week before the Turkish snap general election which is due on 24 June.
