Baidu releases first L4 vehicle for mass production | CGTN
Tech giant Baidu has just released its first prototype of a self-driving vehicle at its AI developer conference in Beijing. According to Zhang Yaqin, the president of Baidu, this model is called the Apolong bus, and will be deployed to several major Chinese cities.
The open source Apollo platform is allowing more companies to participate. Not just Chinese companies, but international ones also, including Microsoft and Nvidia, meaning the Apollo now has 116 partners. The huge market potential in China is also attracting even more companies, especially in sectors such as computer hardware and big data.
