The excursion camp at Mangyongdae was opened 3 May 1962 as a destination for DPRK school children during their two week field trips to Pyongyang. The children reside here during their sojourns to Pyongyang and are offered numerous extra-curricular amenities including musical instruments and practice space, television and computer games.
