Fukuishi Kannon Seigan-ji Temple
This is a Shingon sect temple in Sasebo. The high priest Gyoki places the statue of Kannon in a cave that is said to be the origin of the temple. The temple itself was built in 805 by Kukai (Kobo Daishi).
After you pass through torii and go up the stone stairs you will see Kannon-do hall with a statue of Kannon inside. This hall was rebuilt in 1785 by Matsuura Seizan. It is also temple 27 in Kyushu 33 Temple Pilgrimage. This pilgrimage includes all Kannon temples in Kyushu.
