The BongSanJae building was fully remodeled in 2007 from an original hanok (traditional Korean house) within the city. The figure of the building has a long outhouse with a “ㄷ” shaped anchae (the main building of a house) attached to the back of bakkatchae (outer quarters). The bakkatchae used to be a shop but after sticking stones and creating a design by bricks to make it a firewall, it now has a fancier look. When going through the main gates after going up the stairs, a narrow and long front yard exudes a cozy atmosphere with the interior of the house displaying Professor Na Seoungsook's works made from varnished lacquer and yellow lacquer. In the basement, visitors can see the lacquer work being done within the workshop.
