This is a remodeled hanok built between the late Joseon Dynasty and the early Japanese Colonial period. The house consists of two parts, a haengrangchae (an annex) and an anchae (the main building of a house).
In the anchae, a sarangchae is located on the northern side and a geonneonbang (a room opposite the main living room) is located on the southern side.
In the left part of the sarangchae, there are front doors, a hall and a daecheong (wooden-floored hall) in the southwest where one can see the whole garden. On the left side of the daecheong, there is an ondolbang (a heated floor room) and in front of this room, there is the owner’s room with a toetmaru (a narrow wooden porch running along the outside of a room).
The house can be called a "grid hanok" or a "transitional hanok," mixing western and Japanese elements.
